Requiem for a River Screening

August 5, 2024

On August 1, ARID co-sponsored a film screening of Requiem for a River at the UNM Law School. The film by Mary Patierno tells the story of the Rio Grande in New Mexico and the river communities building a blueprint for more equitable resiliency during a future of climate uncertainty. Following the film, Diane Agnew (Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority), Sara Fox (New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission), and Rin Tara (UNM Utton Transboundary Resources Center), discussed New Mexico’s revitalized regional water planning process. The event was designed to build community engagement and interest for the August 7th Middle Rio Grande Region Water Planning Open House. New Mexico Wild, Western Resource Advocates, UNM Utton Transboundary Resources Center, and UNM Water Resources Program also co-sponsored the evening.
