New Mexico Regional Climate Resilience Workshop

Albuquerque community members were invited to this ARID co-sponsored event on May 22, 2024 to learn about the State Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan (CARP) and the challenges that climate change has already brought and will bring to our state. The workshop was held at the Jackson Student Center at the Anderson Graduate School of Management. Participants shared their experiences with the impacts of climate change on their lives, and offered feedback on strategies and resources that can improve the quality of local economies, health and wellness, community and culture, water systems, infrastructure, and natural resources for all New Mexicans. This Community Conversation Series on Climate Resilience is part of a larger effort by the New Mexico Departments of Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources and Environment Department Climate Policy Bureau to prepare residents, local officials, and state agencies for climate-related impacts to livelihoods and quality of life, and the stories and opinions you share will shape New Mexico’s first Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan.

The Anderson Graduate School of Management and the Intermountain West Transformation Network also sponsored the event.

More information on the State CARP can be found at https://climateaction.nm.gov/CARP/. Feedback on the plan can be provided at https://www.menti.com/almtbymg21sv.
