NASA ARID Meeting
May 7-9, 2024
UNM ARID hosted the leadership team (which includes co-Director UNM ARID, Marcy Litvak) putting together a scoping study to focus on global drylands for the next NASA Terrestrial Ecology field campaign program. This scoping study also has the acronym ARID (Adaptation and Response in Drylands). The goal of this 3 day meeting was to engage with other agencies, tribal communities and other data end-user communities that are applying remote sensing data for decision making and land management. The overall goal is to propose a coordinated field campaign in both the Western U.S. and internationally that will address pressing issues by upscaling drylands' spatiotemporally heterogenous processes and uncertainties from point to pixel to planet.
